Leaves : Lower leaves obovate, slightly crenate, shortly petiolate; upper leaves sessile, lanceolate, acute.

Inflorescence & flowers : Flowers solitary or few along the branches.، Calyx : Lobes lanceolate-acuminate, single-nerved, sometimes with 1–2 small basal teeth; spreading to slightly recurved and much longer than the obconical tube.، Corolla : Broadly funnel-shaped, 2–3 cm in diameter, vivid violet-blue, divided almost to the base.

Fruit : Capsule glabrous, long-obconical, deeply grooved, topped by accrescent calyx lobes.
