الأوراق

Leaves: Basal leaves shortly petiolate, 6 – 12 cm, lyrate-pinnatisect, segments oblong, irregularly sinuate-dentate. Cauline leaves sessile, amplexicaul.

الأزهار

Inflorescence & flowers: Solitary, axillary or terminal, on peduncles 2 – 4 cm. Sepals papilleous or glabrescent, 2 – 2.5 cm. Petals bright yellow to orange at the base, 2.5 – 3 cm, less broad than in G. flavum .

الثمار والبذور

Fruit: Capsule slender, 10 – 15 cm, striate, glabrous or slightly papillulose, somewhat constricted between seeds.

Lebanese distribution: Mt Lebanon (Barouk, Kneissé, Faraya, Ehden, Cedars, Col des Cèdres, Foum el-Mizhab), Anti-Lebanon, Hermon, Zahlé, Ouadi el-‘Arayech; occasional in Metn (‘Asfouriyé).

Native range: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon-Syria, Turkey (POWO).
