Leaves: Oval to oval-oblong, tapering to a point.

Inflorescence & flowers: White flowers with deeply two-lobed petals and a very short crown of small toothed lobes. The calyx is glandular-hairy, oblong in male flowers and oval in female flowers.

Fruit: Stalkless, oval or oblong-conical capsule; seeds bear low tubercles.

Lebanese distribution: Mouterde confirms fruiting specimens from Ehden near Mar Sarkis and Ain Touffaha. Other specimens assigned provisionally to this taxon came from Sannine, Ehden forest, Ain el Qarn above Hasroun, above Tannourine, Dimane–Yammoune, the Cedars and Sir ed Denniye. Additional recorded locations: Sannine and Tannourine.

Syrian distribution: Historical records from Jabal Lemnar and Jabal Halime remain unverified in Mouterde and may belong to the related eriocalycina taxon.
