Leaves: Oblong to narrowly oblong, almost stalkless, with three veins visible at least near the base; stipules may be present or absent.

Inflorescence & flowers: Flowers on long, slender, spreading stalks, up to three times as long as the calyx. Bright-yellow petals often have a dark basal blotch and may exceed the sepals or remain shorter. Style very short or absent.

Fruit: Pointed, ovoid capsule.
