Leaves : Basal leaves in a rosette, oblanceolate to pinnatifid, 5–12 cm long; cauline leaves smaller, alternate, often clasping, entire to lobed; surfaces glabrous to slightly hairy.

Inflorescence & flowers : Capitula arranged in a loose corymbose panicle; involucre cylindrical; florets all ligulate, yellow.

Fruit : Achenes slightly dimorphic; all ribbed, with a well-developed white pappus; outer achenes shorter than inner ones.
