الأوراق

Leaves: Basal leaves orbicular to triangular-rounded, heart-shaped at the base, with sinuate-crenate margins, reaching 7 cm across but apparently smaller in the regional populations described by Mouterde. Stem leaves progressively smaller, with shorter petioles.

الأزهار

Inflorescence & flowers: Numerous more or less erect flowers form a dense, spike-like raceme, sometimes branched at the base. Pedicels 1–3 mm long. Bracts usually narrowly lanceolate, entire or toothed; sepals linear-lanceolate. Corolla tubular, 9–15 mm long, bright yellow in the regional plants, becoming reddish on drying.

Lebanese localities: Aramoun, Qrayé, Ain Zehalta, Dimane, Hasroun, Tannourine, Ehden and its forest, east of Douma, Jisr el-Hajar and Jabal Zahrour.

Syrian localities: Kutchuk Darmik; above Slenfé.

Recorded locations: Bqaatouta, Kfertay.

Native range: Southeastern Europe to Syria. POWO lists Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Crete, Lebanon-Syria, the northwestern Balkan Peninsula, Türkiye and European Türkiye.
