الأوراق

Leaves: Opposite, usually reniform, cordate or rhomboid, glabrescent to pubescent; lower leaves long-petiolate, upper leaves progressively shorter-petiolate. Margins crenate to coarsely crenate-lobed. Lebanese alpine plants may have broad, almost orbicular-reniform blades with obtuse rounded lobes and purplish margins.

Inflorescence: Flowers arranged in pseudo-verticillasters, often relatively few-flowered in compact alpine forms; floral leaves usually exceeding the calyx.، Calyx: 7–18 mm long, tubular-campanulate, green to purplish, glabrous to hairy; teeth triangular to lanceolate and acute, variable in length. In plants corresponding to Mouterde’s L. veronicifolium , the teeth are short, triangular and conspicuously shorter than the tube.، Corolla: (25–)30–35 mm long, pale pink to lilac or almost whitish, usually marked with darker violet or purple lines and spots; tube distinctly exserted from the calyx and widening towards the throat.، Stamens: Included beneath the upper lip; anthers hairy.

Lebanese distribution: Recorded from the high mountains of Lebanon. Mouterde recorded plants under the name Lamium veronicifolium from the high summits of Makmel, the Cedars Pass, Dahr el-Kodib, Qornet es-Saouda, Qornet el-Achara, and above Khan Sannine.

Native range: Italy to western Asia. According to Plants of the World Online (POWO): Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, East Aegean Islands, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Crete, Lebanon–Syria, North Caucasus, north-western Balkan Peninsula, Palestine, Transcaucasus, and Türkiye.
